The directory

Popular fishing towns

The towns with the most captains and guides listed. Each town page lists them A to Z, with live conditions and the season for each fish.

Every town, by region

The number is how many captains and guides we list in each town. All 117 towns and 50 states.

How it works

A fishing guide, not a booking platform

0%

Commission

We never take a cut of a trip. You book with the captain directly, by phone or on their own website.

A–Z

Alphabetical, always

Every town lists its captains alphabetically. A paid Featured spot is labeled and never changes the order.

Live

Conditions

Tide times and water temperature come straight from NOAA stations, so you can plan around the water, not a brochure.

Quick answers

About Gone Fishing HQ

How do I book a charter listed here?

Call the captain or use the booking page on their own website – the buttons on each listing go straight to them. Gone Fishing HQ does not take bookings or payments.

How are captains chosen?

We list charter boats and guides that take paying anglers out from that town and that you can reach directly. Booking platforms and lead-generation sites are left out. How we list.

Do you take a commission?

No. Captains are listed free. Some pay a flat monthly fee for a more detailed listing or the one labeled Featured spot in their town. Nothing changes the A to Z order.

Where do the tide and water temperature numbers come from?

From NOAA’s Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services, the federal tide and water-level network, read live in your browser from the station nearest each town.
