Winter Fishing Charters: 19 Places Where the Bite Stays On

Most charter towns slow down after Thanksgiving. These don’t. We went through the season calendars on our town pages and pulled every place where at least three fish stay in season for all of December, January and February.

How we picked

The short version

A town made the list when its season calendar shows at least three fish open or in season for the whole of December, January and February. Each calendar comes from the town’s own fisheries, tourism or captains’ sources, linked on its page. That gave us 19 towns with 220 captains and guides between them, from sailfish off Florida to walleye through the ice in North Dakota.

Winter weather moves trips around more than summer does, so book a date with some slack and check the live wind and weather alerts for your town the week before.
