Tax: GST included. “Non-resident” means anyone who does not live in Manitoba; some provinces have a cheaper rate for residents of other provinces. Prices change – confirm on the official site before you buy.
Notes on these prices
Prices are from the e-licensing fee page (effective April 1, 2026) and include 5% GST: the 2026 Anglers' Guide lists the same licenses before GST ($28.00 / $13.00 resident, $43.00 / $18.00 Canadian resident, $69.00 / $26.00 non-Canadian resident) with 'GST to be added at time of purchase'. No vendor/transaction fee is stated. The annual license runs May 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027. No 3-day or multi-day option and no conservation license exist in the 2026 schedule. Seniors: the 2026 guide says Manitoba residents 65+ need no license, while an undated e-licensing how-to describes a free Resident Senior Angling License. Barbless hooks are mandatory province-wide. The guide's general limits table says channel catfish 'none may exceed 60 cm' while the Master Angler length for catfish is 89 cm – the two seem to conflict, so confirm in the guide before keeping a large catfish. Month arrays list months the season is open for most of the month; see notes for exact dates. Hudson Bay (Churchill) saltwater rules were not researched.

Who needs a Manitoba fishing license
- Who needs one: Everyone 16 and older needs a Manitoba angling license, except Manitoba residents 65+ (and Manitoba-resident active military members and veterans); visitors under 16 may fish without a license only alongside a license holder or exempt person, with their catch counting toward that person's limit.
- Also required: None province-wide. On certain northern fly-in waters (Kississing incl. Bartlett, Morton, Bear, Gods, Molson, Nueltin, Utik lakes and Paimusk Creek) non-residents of Manitoba also need a free Special Angling License issued by the licensed tourist operator they are staying with.
- Guides and outfitters: On Kississing Lake (and tributaries incl. Bartlett Lake), Morton, Bear, Gods, Molson (and tributaries), Nueltin and Utik lakes and Paimusk Creek, all non-residents of Manitoba who fish must be registered and staying with a licensed Manitoba tourist operator that holds an allocation for that fishery, and must get a free Special Angling License from that operator.
- Salt water: Manitoba's only salt water is Hudson Bay (Churchill area); the provincial pages checked list no separate tidal or saltwater license, only the provincial angling license. Not otherwise researched.
- Kids: Manitoba residents under 16 (resident 6+ months) fish free with their own limit; Canadian and non-Canadian visitors under 16 fish free only with a license holder or exempt person and share that person's limit, or buy their own license to get their own limit.
- Seniors: Manitoba residents 65+ do not require an angling license (2026 Anglers' Guide); the e-licensing system also issues a free Manitoba Resident Senior Angling License. No senior discount for visitors.
- Free fishing days: Family Fishing Weekends: June 12-14, 2026 and February 20-22, 2027 – anyone may fish without a license anywhere in Manitoba except federal (national) parks; all other rules apply.
